Chapter 3 - Basic Operations

Inserting a Video Cassette
1 Insert a video cassette as shown above.
2 Gently press the center of the front side of the cassette
until the mechanism draws it into the compartment.
When the cassette has been loaded, the cassette
indicator Go _ lights in the display window and the VCR
turns on automatically.
Note:
If you insert a cassette without a safety tab, playback starts
automatically (AUTO PLAYBACK function).
Ejecting the Video Cassette
Press 4 EJECT on the VCR.
You can eject the cassette even when the power is off, so
long as the AC power cord is plugged into the wall outlet.
When you press 4 EJECT, the power is turned on. After
ejecting the cassette, the power automatically shuts off.
Protecting Your Cassette against Accidental Erasure
Cassettes have a safety tab to protect against accidental
recording.
Break off the safety tab with a screwdriver or other tool.
If the safety tab is removed, the cassette is ejected when you
try to record on it.
To record on a cassette with the safety tab broken off, simply
cover the tab hole with adhesive tape.
