installed

Rear
Input option
the 20-pin
Rear
Input connector
will
be used rather than
the
dual
banana
jacks. In
this
case,
follow the
installation
procedure given
in
the
Rear
Input
op
ion.

Disconnect
the
8860A frpm
its
line
power;
remove
all
signals
from
its
front
(and
rear)
panel
inputs.

Remove
the
top cover
by unscrewing
the four
screws located
on
the
bottom
of
the
u"d
pulling the
cover
straight
up and
off.

Remove
the
guard
cover
by unscrewing
its
four top
screws.
(The guard
cover
is
the
large,
gold-colored metal cover with
adjustment
holes.)

Lift
out
the
A/D-Ohms
circuit
board,
shown
in
Figure
007-2.

Thread
the
two
wires
(Gray
and
Violet)
from
the
External
Reference
drcuit
board through
the hole
at
the
rear,
and from
the
component
side
of the
A/D
Ol
board,
as in
Figure
007-2.
fi
Plug
the External
Reference
board
into the
A/D-OHMS
board
(9-pin
connector).
Fasten
the
External Reference
board
in
place
with a screw
from
th
other
side.

Reinstall the
A/D-Ohms
circuit
bo'ard into
its
slot in
the
mam
instrument,
ever
removed.

From
the
inside
install
the dual
banana
jack connector
in
the
rear
panel hole
Fasten
it
with
two
screws.
You
will
need
ashort,
stubby screwdriver
or a
nght-ang
screwdriver
to
fasten
the
lower
screw.
