Using Batteries
Install four size AA (LR6) alkaline batteries.
Approximately 8 hours of disc playing is possible.
Close the battery compartment lid firmly.
Note
Notes on batteries
¢ Insert the batteries with correct polarity.
¢ Do not use old batteries with new ones or different types of batteries together.
You cannot charge the battery.
elf the electrolyte inside the battery should come into contact, wash the
contaminated parts in the battery box with a cloth and replace the old batteries
with new ones,
When
the batteries are not used for a long period of time, remove them.
When
operating the unit on house current or car battery, if the AC power adaptor
or car battery cord is disconnected from the OC IN 9V jack, the unit stops its
operation even when the batteries are installed to prevent undue battery
consumption. To continue operation, press the operation button again

AC power adaptor (supplied)
When
the player is not used, be sure to disconnect the AC power adaptor from
the unit and from a wall outlet.
Note on the AC power adaptor
Use only the supplied AC power adaptor or optional Sony AC
power adaptor AC-E6M or AC-E90M.
Never use any other adaptors manufactured
by Sony
because the polarity of the supplied adaptor is opposite of
the conventional adaptors. Do not use the supplied AC
power adaptor for other "'Discman'' CD compact players with
DC IN 9 V jack, nor the optional AC power adaptor such as

The unit may become
warm
The bottom of the unit may be warm during operation, which is normal. If it is
unusually warm, disconnect the AC power adaptor and consult your Sony dealer
If the battery compartment lid is removed
Repiace it by pushing both sides in the numbered
order as shown
