There are many ways to use an EPSON printer with the #8133
interface card.
If you are using an applications package such as AppleWorks, or a
wordprocessor or spreadsheet, consult the manual which came with
the package to find out how to print. The software will probably
control the printer completely.
If you are programming and are attempting to use the features of
the printer to the full with the # 8133 card, read the rest of the manual.
In particular, there are tips on using some applications programs and
CP/M as well as using the commands.

Make sure there is paper in the printer, then switch on the APPLE,
followed by the printer.
You are now ready to print.

This is the command to direct
output to the printer. If the printer has been switched on, and is on-
line, it will respond with a movement of the carriage and the cursor
will return. If the printer is switched off or the ON LINE light is out,
the computer will 'hang' with no cursor displayed, while it waits for
the printer to acknowledge that it is ready to receive data.
When the printer is ready to receive data, i.e. both switched on and
on-line, the cursor will return. If this does not happen, SWITCH OFF
THE APPLE AND THE PRINTER BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO
CHECK THE CARD. Make sure that you have put the card in the slot
you are calling, as the computer will also hang if you attempt to call a
slot which does not contain a card.
