Regardless of the direction in which playback is started, it
continues until the 'STOP' button @ is pressed.
lf recording is started in this mode, the result is the same
as in the 2 mode.
'DUB SPEED HIGH and NORM' buttons
These buttons enable you to synchronously-start tape dubbing
from Deck A to Deck B.
When the 'NORM' button is pressed, the 'DUBBING' indicator
© lights and normal-speed dubbing starts.
When the 'HIGH' button is pressed, the 'HI-SPEED' indicator
©) also lights and high-speed dubbing starts. This takes
only half the time of normal-speed dubbing.
Commands from these buttons are accepted only when
both decks are in Stop mode.
Continuous Dubbing of both cassette sides is also possible.

@) Digital tape counters
A 4digit summing/subtracting counter is provided for
each deck.
(®) Deck 'A' and 'B' indicators
One or both indicators light to indicate the deck(s}
selected.
©) 'HI-SPEED, DUBBING' indicators
One or both indicators light to indicate the dubbing
speed.
@ 'MEMO' indicator
Lights when the 'MEMO' button @) is pressed.
@ 'SYNC REC' indicator
Lights up during standby for Sync Recording.
@® 'BLANK SKIP' indicator
Lights when the 'B-SKIP' button @) is pressed.
@ 'HX-PRO' indicator
Lights permanently while the power is ON.
() 'DOLBY B/C' indicators
One of the indicators fights to indicate Dolby B NR or
Dolby C NR.
"MPX-FILTER' indicator
Lights up when the MPx filter is ON.
@) Direction indicators
One of the indicators lights to indicate the direction of
the heads and the status of the deck mechanism.
When the 'ON/OFF' switch @)is set to ON, the indicator
corresponding to the current tape travel direction lights
up.
When the 'PLAY » ' button @ is pressed, the heads
are set for the forward direction, and the ' >' indicator
lights up.
When the ' «PLAY' button @ is pressed, the heads
are set for the reverse direction, and the' <d indicator
lights up.
® 'PLAY' and 'REC' indicators
Light when the 'PLAY' @ and 'REC' button 49 are
pressed respectively.
When these indicators flash, the following modes are
indicated according to the flashing speed.

@ 'CONT REC, CONT PLAY' indicators
Light when the 'CONT REC' and 'CONT PLAY' button
are pressed respectively.
(@) 'REV MODE' indicator -
Indicates the reverse mode selected by the 'REV MODE'
button @).

@ Peak level indicators
When
recording, adjust the recording level with the
'REC LEVEL (L, R})' control @ so that the red segmenis
do not mormally light. It is acceptable if the red segments
light occasionally, but the played will be distorted if
they light permanently.
'REC, A+B REC' buttons
When the 'REC' button is pressed, the deck indicated by
the lighting of the Deck 'A' or 'B' indicator (©) enters the
Record-Pause mode.
When the 'A+B REC' button is pressed, both the Deck 'A'
and 'B' indicators © light, and both decks enter the Recerd-
Pause mode.
Press the 'u' (pause) button @ to initiate the Record
mode.
Note:
Prior to recording, check the head direction ( »or <4)
indicated by the Direction indicators ().
'REC MUTE' button
When
this button is pressed during recording, the deck
enters
the Record-Pause
mode
after reserving
a blank
passage of 4 seconds on tape.
When this button is pressed for more than 4 seconds, a
blank passage on tape is created, until the button is released.
The deck enters the Record-Pause mode when the button
is released.
When the 'REC MUTE' button is pressed, the 'REC' indicator
® starts flashing quickly indicating Record-Mute operation.
If it is required to create a blank passage of less than 4
seconds, press the 'REC' button at the desired time during
the Record-Mute
operation. The Rec-Mute
operation is
then cancelled and the deck enters the Record mode.
If it
is required to enter the Record-Pause
mode,
press the
'um' (pause) button ©).
The
'REC
MUTE'
button
command
is accepted
during
recording or normal-speed dubbing.
'DISPLAY' button
This button enables you to switch the function
of the
display on the Deck B side in Record mode, to peak level,
memory peak level or counter.
a. When the deck enters the Record
mode, the counter becomes the

range is between 0 dB and +12
dB, and levels of 0 dB or less are
displayed as "O dB", and those

as "H-db".

the memory and displayed with
flashing figures.
c. When the DISPLAY button is held
depressed
for
more
than
3
seconds during peak level display
above, the display returns to the
