'ON/OFF' switch
For switching the unit on and off.
'EJECT' button for deck 'A'
For opening the cassette holder @.
Cassette holder 'A'
See Figure 3 for the insertion of the cassette.
Control buttons
Mechanism select buttons
'DECK A', 'DECK B'
Press to select the deck mechanism, Deck A or Deck B, to
be controlled.
When the 'DECK A' or 'DECK B* button is pressed, the
corresponding
indicator (6) lights, and the corresponding
deck mechanism can be controlled with the following control
buttons.
(A deck mechanism
cannot be selected if no
cassette is loaded in it.)
In the case of dubbing or parallel recording, both the DECK
A and DECK B indicators light, and both deck mechanisms
can be controlled simultaneously regardless of any previous
selection.
If both Deck A and Deck B are in Play mode, playback is
from the deck selected.
If the deck selected is in the Play-
Pause or Stop mode
and the other deck is in the Play
mode, playback is from the other deck.

(Stop button)
Press to cancel any operation modes and stop the tape
travel.
'PLAY
»' (Forward play button)
Press to start playback in the forward direction.
' «¢ PLAY' (Reverse play button)
Press to start playback in the reverse direction.
Note on the 'PLAY' buttons
When
a 'PLAY'
button is pressed twice in succession,
Single Repeat Playback is initiated, and the present track(s)
located between two blank passages of more than 4 seconds
is(are) played repeatedly.
* »>' (Fast wind button)
Press to start fast tape winding from the left to the right.
' <<' (Fast wind button)
Press to Start fast tape winding from the right to the left.
"nt ' (Pause button)
Press to stop the tape travel temporarily during playback,
recording or normal-speed dubbing.
To cancel the Pause mode
If in Play-Pause mode, press the' it' (pause) button (4)
again, or press the 'PLAY' button @). If in Record-Pause
mode,
press the ' #' (pause) button (4) again.
'A~-COUNTER-B' buttons
'MEMO' buttons
When
one of these buttons is pressed in Stop, Play or
Record
mode,
the corresponding
'MEMO'
indicator @
lights and the position on the tape is pressed is stored in
memory.
Memory Stop:
When the memory position on tape is reached during
fast winding, tape winding stops there.
To clear the memory position:
Press the 'MEMO' button again. The 'MEMO' indicator
@ goes out and the memory position is cleared from
memory.
To change the memory position:

'QMS' (Quick Music Search) button
'AMS' (Auto Music Scan) button
'B-SKIP* (Blank Skip) button
