This
equipment

designed and

Measuring
Apparatus',
and
has
been

upplied
in a
saf
e condition.
The
following
pre-
c
autions must
be
observed by
the
u ser to
ensure safe
operation and to
retain
the equip-
m
e
nt in a
saf
e
condition.
Def
ec
t
s and
abnormal
stresses
Whenever
it is likely
t hat
protection has been impaired,
f
or
example as
a
result
of
damage
caused
by
severe condi
tions
o
f
transport or
storage,
the
equipment shall
be
made
inoperative
and
be
secured
against
any
unintended
operation.
Removal
of c
overs
Removal
of the
covers
i
s
likely
to
expose
live
parts
a
lthough
reasonable
precautions
have been t
a
ken in
the
design of
the
equipment
to shield
s uch
parts.
The
equipment
shall
be disconnected
from
t
h
e
supply before carry
i
ng
out
any
adjustment, r
eplac
ement
or
maintenance
and
repa"ir
during
which
the
equipment
s
ha
ll be op
ened,
If any
adjustment
,
m
a
intenance
or
repair under v
oltage
is
inevitable it
shall
only
be
carried out
by
a
s
kill ed person
who
is aware
of
the
hazard
involved,
Note
that
capacitors
inside
the
equipment
may
still
be
charged
when t
he
equipment
has been disconnected
from
the
supply
.
Before
carrying ou
t any
work
ins
ide
the
equip-
ment,
capacitors connected
to
high
voltage
points
should
be
discharged;
to discharge
mains
filt
er capac
itors, i
f
fitted
,
s
hort
together
the
L (live)
and
N
(neutral) pins
of
the
mains
plug
.
Mains
plug
The
mains
plug
shall
onl
y
be
inserted
in
a socket outl
et
provided
with
a protective
earth
contact.
The
protective
action shal
l not be
negated
by
the use
of
an
extension
lead without
protective
conductor
.
Any
inter
ruption of the
protective conductor
inside
or
outside
the
equipment is
likely to
make the equipment danger
ous
.
Fuses
Note
that
there i
s a
s
uppl
y
fus
e in
both
t he
live
and
neutra
l

of
the
supply
lead.
If
only
one
of
these
fuses should
rupture,
certain
parts
of t
he
equipr.

ent could
remain
at
supply
potential.
To
provide
protection
agains
t

r eakdovm
of the
supply
lead,
its
connectors
,
a nd
fi lter
where
fi
t
ted,
an
external
supply
fuse
(e
.

.
fitted
in t
he
connec
ting
plug) s
houl
d
be
used
in
the live
l
ead.
The fuse
should
have a
conti
nuous
rating
not exceeding
6 A.
Make
sure that onl
y fuses

th
the

equired rated
current
and
of
the
specified
type
are us
ed
for
r epl acemen
t.
The
use
of
mende
d fuses
and
the s
hort-circuiting of
fuse
holders
s hall
be avoided.
