Introduction This maintenance manual provides a component overview for the LaserPro T500 and instructions for replacing and maintaining the components of the machine. It also includes a troubleshooting chapter with some handy hints when problems arise or if the machine does not operate properly.
The following diagrams represent all of the maintainable mechanical and electronic components of the machine, and their parts lists for convenient parts replacement. The LaserPro T500 includes six main units as follows. Each unit will be discussed in depth in later chapters.

The Motion System is driven by servomotors, which includes X and Y motors. The X motor sits at the right hand side of the X-rail, and moves the lens carriage left and right via the X-axis belt, while the Y motor moves the X-rail in a forward and backward motion simultaneously using two Y-axis belts at either end.
Lens Carriage Assembly Air pipe P/N: 23300069G For 4” lens Draft Pipe P/N: 22801913G For 2” lens The lens carriage consists of a mirror (Mirror 4) and lens. Mirror 4 reflects the beam through the focal lens that focuses the beam onto the material. In general, a 4.0-inch lens is included as standard with the machine.
X Motor Unit Assembly The X-motor unit is located at the right side of the machine. X motor PCB has two sensors that can sense the x and y margin when the lens carriage moves toward it. When the lens carriage’s detector detects the sensor, the lens carriage will then move in a diagonal direction to the original point (back left corner of the machine).
Y Motor Unit Assembly The Y-motor unit is located at the back of the machine. Y motor and X motor are the same servomotor, parts number (P/N) is 23100062G. AC servo motor Y axis pulley and belt. For detail P/N: 23100062G assembly diagram and part numbers, Mechanical Diagram...
Laser operation occurs when a medium (in LaserPro T500’s case is C 2) is excited within a chamber. The laser tube is a sealed metal tube. This light is amplified from bouncing forth and backwards inside the high voltage medium.
In the following section, we will describe the Tickle Pulse and PWM Frequency, which have an important role in laser control. PWM (Clock) Frequency PWM duty cycle controls the laser’s power level so you can direct the laser to perform a variety of cutting and marking tasks.
(serial connection_F201 needs 96v The AC input power for the T500 system ranges from 220Vac to 240Vac. In some countries, to extend the maximum protection against commercial power failure, as well as voltage fluctuations, a power conditioner that provides line regulation and noise filtering is recommende...

Maintenance This chapter gives a detailed explanation of how to maintain the maintainable mechanical and electronic components of the machine that includes the cleaning, replacement and adjustment of these components. To remove, maintain or tune any part or component, please turn off machine power first.
The X and Y Motor Removal and Belt Tension Adjustment To adjust the belt tension of the X and Y motors, their covers need to be removed. To remove the cover of the X motor and then the X motor: 1.
NOTE: For a more complete explanation of lens cleaning, please refer to the T500 User’s Manual. To remove Synrad Firestar F 201 (200w) laser tube, the beam expander module needs to be dismounted.
Page 21
Dismount the whole beam expander module when the laser tube needs to be sent back for repair. And do NOT send back the beam expander module. To remove laser tube, there are three screws Disconnect signal mounting on laser tube bracket. Two screws are cable and water pipe..
Optical Alignment Tool T500 has convenient tool for optical alignment. When machine is ON, plug the optical alignment tool on the socket (see yellow circle in picture below), then press the button, machine will fire 5 to 10 % laser power.
The laser diode provides a red beam source for the operator to make sure where to start the laser engraving. T500 has beam combiner which combines laser beam and red together as one. Since laser beam is invisible for human eyes, combining red beam and laser beam can make the operation easier.
Laser Diode and Mirror Adjustment How to re-align the laser beam and the red beam to make them parallel? Switch on the machine and press “Cutting Mode” keys on the control panel at the same time then release the keys once a message appears. Machine will go to hardware testing mode. Press the “Down”...
Mirror 1 Adjustment Put a piece of paper or some white tape on the hole below mirror 2. Press Enter and see where the dot is projected on to the paper. Normally, the dot should be on the center of the hole. If the dot is not on the center, adjust mirror 1 prism mount to tune the dot to be at the center of the hole.
Mirror 3 Adjustment Put a piece of paper or some white tape on the front hole of mirror 4. Move mirror 4 close to mirror 3 (the “B” position on Figure 1) Press Enter and see where the first dot is projected on to the paper. Move mirror 4 away from mirror 3 (the “D”...
To access to this procedure, you simply power on the machine while depressing “Cutting Mode” keys simultaneously till text appears on the display. Refer to the following diagram, so as to easily find all of the built-in hidden diagnostic functions in the LaserPro T500 system. Hidden Diagnostic Procedures...

Troubleshooting Initializing Issue Before turn on machine, please check the position of lens carriage. If the bottom of lens carriage is too low, it may hit the edge of working table or cutting bar and crash machine. Sometime, carriage badly, the x- y axis will be twisted a little and affect engraving/cutting quality.
Weak Laser Output 1. Make sure the lens focus is correctly set. Incorrect focus, such as incorrect focal depth, could result in weak output. Always use the correct focus gauge to check or to do “Optical Adjustment”. 2. Check if all the optics are properly cleaned and aligned. A dirty or damaged lens, reflective mirrors (including the laser tube’s output lens) and poor alignment will weaken the laser.
Error message on X/Y motor drivers The motor driver display will show “00000” when machine just turn on. When motor is moving the display numbers. When there are some error of the motor driver will show “AL.nnn”. Then the cables connecting to motor driver needs to be check, or the motor driver needs to be replaced.
“Command Error, Use GCC driver or HP Pen Plotter Command” Message 1. Make sure the driver used is for the T500, and is from GCC, or the HP pen plotter driver is used, if not using GCC’s driver for control.
Therefore, it is important to keep the exhaust system ventilating effectively. Output Is Not Precise Do the Scaling under the Paper Option of the LaserPro T500’s Driver (refer to the User’s Manual). Appendix...
