(2) Place the material under the gathering foot and
stitch in the usual way.
(3) The fullness of the shirring or amount of gather-
ing is regulated by the length of stitch. A longer
stitch increases the fullness of the gathers.

C—Adjusting

making a plait once at every 6 stitches or once every
12 stitches as desired; also for disengaging ruffler,
