Roland RD-100
Owner's Manual
There are two Transmit modes for sending MIDI mes-
sages. Select the one that suits your purpose.
+ Note and Pedal messages can be transmitted and received in
any mode.
Mode 1: This mode allows the piano to transmit only the
performance messages (information concerned with
playing the keyboard or pressing the pedals) to the exter-
nal MIDI device. When you select other sounds on the
RD-100 it thus does not transmit Program Change mes-
sages.
Mode 2: This mode allows the piano to transmit various
MIDI messages as well as normal performance informa-
tion. When you select a sound on the RD-100, the cor-
responding Program Change will be transmitted. This
mode may be convenient when recording performances
into a sequencer.

tons.

cator goes out.
The Transmit Mode you select here will be retained until
the piano is switched off. When the RD-100 is switched
on, MODE 1 will be automatically selected.

Program Changes numbers can be transmitted as fol-
lows. This may be necessary for remotely controlling a
module, etc., without selecting another sound on the
RD-100 itself:
. Hold down [TRANSPOSE] while pressing the [REVERB] but-
ton.
Press the [REVERB] button again, and the display shows
the Group, Bank, and Number.
. Set the Program Change Number with the [+/-] buttons.
. Press the [TRANSPOSE] button and confirm that the indi-
cator goes out.
The Program Change number you have set will be
retained until the piano is switched off.
