Using the closed caption feature
The closed caption feature has two options: captions or text. A caption is a printed version of the dialogue, narration, and/or
sound effects of a program.Text is information not related to the program (such as stock or weather reports) that appears on-
screen (when provided by individual stations).

Closed-captioned

noted as "CC."

displayed on-screen.

• Select C1, C2, C3, or C4 to
view captions. Select C 1 for
translation of the primary
language in your area.
• Select T1, T2, T3, or T4
to view Text (if
available).
To turn off the closed-captioned
feature:
Select OFF in step 4 above.
Note:
• A closed-captioned signal may not be decoded in the following situations:
- When a videotape has been dubbed.
- When the signal reception is weak.
- When the signal reception is non-standard.
• If you select one of the Closed Caption Text modes and text is not available, a
black rectangle may appear on your screen. If this happens, set the Closed
Caption feature to OFF.
