Required for the Panasonic "576" DBS System
The "576 DBS MOD" kit is available to modify E-30 Phones and 1600A Series Emergency Phones to
be compatible with the Panasonic 576 DBS system. The "576 DBS MOD" kit is available from Viking
Electronics for $50.00. Alternatively, Viking's Technical Support will modify the unit for $75.00. For

1. Cut one end of resistor "R4" as shown in the diagram above and stand it up.
2. Replace resistor "R10", as shown in the diagram above, with a 2K ohm resistor (included - Radio Shack equivalent #
271-1325).
3. Replace resistor "R15", as shown in the diagram above, with a 220K ohm resistor (included - Radio Shack equivalent #
271-1350).
4. Remove existing "Z3" chip, as shown in the diagram
above, and carefully replace with the included "E16V-
P576" software chip.
5. Install the PS-2R to boost the DC Loop current on the
Panasonic's analog extension as shown to the right.
