INTRODUCTION
The mechanical system includes those components
of the undercarriage and upperstructure that are not
electrically or hydraulically operated. Components
which are integral parts of the hydraulic or electrical
systems are included only in their relation to the
mechanical system.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The undercarriage is the crawler base for the
rotating upperstructure. Components of the
undercarriage (see figure 26) include the carbody or
optional leveler assembly, track assemblies and
track drive assemblies.

TRACK PAD
Each track assembly includes the track frame, track
pads and chain, tr.ack rollers, carrier rollers, idler
wheel, track adjustment cylinder and pillow blocks.
The track drive assembly includes the hydraulic
motor, gearbox, brake and drive sprocket.
