STARTING THE ENGINE
This motorcycle
is equipped with a side
stand ignition cut-off system. The
engine
cannot be started if the side stand is down,
unless the transmission is in neutral. If the
side stand is up, the engine can be started in
neutral
or in gear with
the
clutch
lever
pulled in. After starting with the side stand
down,
the
engine
will
shut
off
if the
transmission
is put in gear before raising
the side stand.
AW ARNING
+ Never run the engine in an enclosed
area. The exhaust contains poisonous
carbon monoxide gas that can cause
loss
of
consciousness
and
lead
to
death.
NOTE:
«Do not use the electric starter for more
than 5 seconds at a time. Release the
starter
button
for
approximately
10
seconds before pressing it again.

Preparation
Before
starting, insert the key, turn the
ignition
switch
ON
and
confirm
the
following:
eThe
transmission
is
in
NEUTRAL
(neutral indicator light ON).
e The engine stop switch is at RUN.
e The red low oil pressure indicator is ON.
e The fuel cock is ON.
