Speaker power capacity
The receiver is rated at 20 watts minimum
RMS per channel with an
8-ohm load at 1 kHz and may deliver an instantaneous peak power
much greater than the rated power. Be sure to use speakers with ade-
quate power handling capabilities. Always reduce the volume, when
setting down or removing a tonearm or when tuning across the band.
Speaker damage may result if these precautions are not observed.
Speaker impedance
This receiver is designed to work best with speakers having nominal
impedance ratings from 8 to 16 ohms.
Connections
Connect
each speaker to the corresponding
speaker terminals, i.e.
right speaker to the R terminals and left speaker to L. Note that the
colored or marked lead of a speaker cord goes to the @ terminal and
the other lead to the © terminal.

MW and LW antenna
In most areas, the built-in ferrite bar antenna will provide satisfactory
MW and LW reception. In difficult reception areas, it may be nec-
cessary to connect a length of wire 10 to 20 meters (30 to 60 feet) long
to the MW or LW ANTENNA
terminal. Extend this out of doors if
possible, keeping as much of the antenna horizontal as possible.
LW wire broadcasting connection (for Switzerland only)
Connect the LW wire broadcasting cable to the LW ANTENNA ter-
minal.
GROUND CONNECTION
A common terminal is used for outdoor antenna and record player
groundings. Use this ground terminal [ 7, ] for lightning protection or
preventing hum.
POWER CONNECTION
The power cord should be connected last of all.
Before making any form of power connection, make sure the POWER
switch is released (OFF).
