Before operation
1. Press [> to select the CD player.
If the player starts playing, press ll to
stop play.
2 Press EFFECT on the amplifier so that
"EFFECT OFF" appears in the display.
1 Press & OPEN/CLOSE on the CD
player and place a disc on the tray. Then
press 2 OPEN/CLOSE again to close
the tray.
The total number of tracks and total
playing time appear in the display.
2 Press EDIT.
"TAPE SELECT" appears, and the
player divides the selections
automatically.
Then the display changes as follows:

3 insert a blank tape of the indicated tape
length (or a longer tape) into deck B.

in low-level high-frequency signals,
press DOLBY NR to select B or C.
Dolby C provides greater noise
reduction benefit than Dolby B.
6 Press CD SYNCHRO.
Deck B stands by for recording.
7 Press If PAUSE on the tape player to
release recording pause.
Recording starts.
Recording equalized or processed
sounds
If an audio emphasis setting or a Personal
File is selected on the amplifier, the
processed sound can be recorded. When
playing back a recording that was made of
a processed sound, use EFFECT OFF mode.
If the processed sound is recorded and then
the playback is processed again, the
resulting sound may be distorted. To make
a flat (unprocessed) recording, use EFFECT
OFF mode.

Recording a CD:
Specifying Tape
Length (time edit /
just edit)
You can have the stereo system create
programmes based on tape length.
The CD player makes programmes that will
fit the tape length. For example, if you use a
40-minute tape to record a 46-minute CD,
the CD player will automatically choose
tracks that will fit within the 40 minutes,
filling as much of the tape as possible. The
player will not programme tracks beyond
track number 20. Use the buttons on the
unit for this operation.
