and wait until the fly wheel comes to a complete stop.
OPERATING THE LOG SPLITTER
See Figure 7.
Always place logs lengthwise on the work table and resting
firmly on the side supports with one end against the wedge.
Place logs flat and in the direction of the grain. Never angle
the log to split it or place the log crosswise on the splitter.
Never split more than one log at a time. The log splitter re-
quires using two hands to operate the log splitter.
Install battery pack as previously described.
Depress and release the ON button. Wait a few seconds
for the fly wheel to get up to speed.
Place log lengthwise and lay flat on the work table.
NOTE: If the log is small, place it against the wedge before
starting the splitter.
Place one hand on the safety lever and one hand on the
splitting lever.
Push the safety lever fully to the operating position.
Rapidly push the splitting lever forward to engage the
ram. With both levers activated the ram will push the log
into the wedge and split the wood.
NOTE: The splitting lever can not move until the safety
lever is activated.
OPERATION
Once the log is split, pull both handles back to the start-
ing positions.
NOTE: When using the log splitter on a smooth surface,
it may slightly roll with every stroke. A cut piece of wood
or similar can be used to chock the wheels to prevent
the log splitter from rolling during use.
RESETTING THE RAM
See Figure 8.
The reset/overload buttons pull the ram back to the starting
position.
Pull the splitting lever to the starting position.
Locate the reset buttons on the side of the log splitter.
At the same time, press the reset buttons with both hands.
The safety lever will return to the starting position.
The ram will return to the starting position.
FREEING A JAMMED LOG
See Figure 9.
A second log can be used to free up a previously cut log that
is stuck on the wedge. Proceed with caution.
Turn off the log splitter and wait for the fly wheel to stop
completely.
Find a shorter log that will fit between the jammed log
and the ram.
Place the second log on the work table in the open space
against the jammed log.
Turn on the log splitter and wait for the fly wheel to get
up to speed.
Place one hand on the safety lever and one hand on the
splitting lever.
Push the safety lever fully to the operating position.
Rapidly push the splitting lever forward to engage the
ram. With both levers activated the ram will push the log
into the wedge and split the wood.
If the log is still jammed repeat the steps until the jam is
completely freed.
WARNING:
Never try to knock the jammed log off the splitter. Doing
so can damage the tool or could cause the log to fly up
and hit someone causing injury.
WARNING:
Do not access internal components. Touching internal
components may cause the ram to move and suddenly
retract. Maintenance to be performed by authorized
personnel only. Failure to do so could result in serious
personal injury.
