CONNECTION
Connecting Battery Packs
with Permanent Cords
To connect a single Battery Pack to a UPS:
Insert the Battery Pack's power cable (A) into the
external battery connector of your UPS. (See
your UPS owner's manual for external battery
connector description and location.)
To connect multiple Battery Packs to a UPS:
Battery Packs with Permanent Cords
Select battery packs feature external battery con-
nectors (B) If your battery pack is one of these,
you can increase your runtime by connecting
the power cable of one Battery Pack to the UPS's
external battery connector as outlined above,
then "daisy chain" more Battery Packs onto the
first. Connect the power cable of the second
Battery Pack to the first Battery Pack's external
battery connector (B), the cable on third to the
connector on the second and so on. ALL BAT-
TERY PACKS IN THE CHAIN MUST BE THE
SAME MODEL. Note that multiple Battery Pack
arrays will provide longer runtimes, but will also
require longer recharge times.
If your battery pack does not feature an external
battery connector (B), you use a Power Cable Y-
Adapter (sold separately by Tripp Lite) to con-
nect two of them to a single UPS.
Connecting Battery Packs
with Detachable Cords
To connect a single Battery Pack to a UPS:

These models feature dual input/output recep-
tacles on their rear panels (A) . To connect to a

UPS, insert one end of the detachable power
cable (B) into either plug on the rear of the
Battery Pack and the cable's other end into the
external battery connector of your UPS. (See
Battery Packs with Detachable Cords
your UPS manual for external battery connector
description and location.)
To connect multiple Battery Packs to a single
UPS: To increase runtime, connect the output of
the first Battery Pack to the UPS's external bat-
tery connector, then "daisy chain" the others:
connect an input/output plug on the second
Battery Pack to an input/output plug on the first,
a plug on third to a plug on the second and so on.
ALL BATTERY PACKS IN THE CHAIN MUST
BE THE SAME MODEL. Note that multiple
Battery Pack arrays will provide longer runtimes,
but will also require longer recharge times.
