If you shoot without positioning the autofocus frame ()
on the main subject of the picture as shown above, only
the background will be in focus. When the main subject of
your picture is off the autofocus frame (d! )in the center
of the viewfinder, use the focus-lock technique according
to the following procedures.

First position the autofocus frame () on the area to
be focused upon. If that area is too small to take up
the entire autofocus frame (as when trying to focus on
a faraway face), position the autofocus frame (d) on
a larger equidistant object (like the subject's chest).

As you press the shutter release button halfway, the
green lamp glows, and focus and exposure are
temporarily locked.
