1-1 Introducing the CDP-3100/CDS-3100
Chapter 1 Overview
The CDP-3100/CDS-3100 is a system consisting of a compact disc
player unit and compact disc player control unit. This system provides
the following professional features:
¢ One-control unit/one-player system configuration
e Various interface options
e Precise and easy cue point searching
The following major functions are provided:
System component configuration
Due to the one-to-one correspondence between player and control
unit, single-unit-like operations are possible while providing the
merits of a two-unit system component configuration.
Connection of an optional interface board (DABK-3102 or
DABK-3103) provides the added features of synchronization with
video signals, 9-pin remote control, digital output (AES/EBU format)
at 48 kHz, and connectability to the DAE-3000 editing system.
Play functions
The player supports normal playback (monitor play and on-line play),
as well as variable-speed playback over a range of +12.5%.
Searching for a cue point
You can do a cue point search by frame using AMS with three levels
of sound detection, through an index search, or through the input of
numerical values.
With the optional DABK-3101 memory board, you can do searches
using the JOG dial while monitoring the sound.
