    To use the Elite Gourmet EIM916 ice cream maker:

    1. Chill the ice cream canister in the freezer for 2-3 hours prior to use, but not more than 6 hours.
    2. Prepare your desired ice cream mixture according to a recipe.
    3. Pour the prepared and chilled mixture into the chilled ice cream canister, filling it no more than 2/3 full.
    4. Insert the Blending Spatula and ensure its bottom is fixed in the center of the canister.
    5. Place the lid on the canister.
    6. Place the plastic stabilizing ring into the wooden bucket.
    7. Place the canister into the wooden bucket, ensuring it engages the cone in the center.
    8. Slide the rectangular end of the hand crank or electric motor into the rectangular hole on the rim of the wooden bucket. Lift the latch so the wire goes over the rounded end of the crank or motor.
    9. If using the electric motor, plug the power cord into an electrical outlet. 1
    10. Fill the wooden bucket with ice to the top of the canister. 1
    11. Add 1-2 cups of rock salt to the top of the ice inside the bucket. 1
    12. Run the cranking system for approximately 5 minutes to chill the canister evenly. 1
    13. As the ice melts, add more ice and rock salt into the bucket. 1
    14. Allow the machine to churn for 45 minutes. If the motor stops prematurely, turn it off, break up ice blockages, and restart. 1
    15. Once churning is complete (the motor will automatically shut off), unplug and remove the motor or crank. Clear ice and salt from the lid. 1
    16. Remove the cover, lift out the Blending Spatula, and scrape off excess ice cream. The ice cream will be a soft-serve texture. 1
    17. For a harder consistency, transfer the contents to a freezable container and freeze for 3-4 hours.
