Service affecting and non-service affecting alarms
1830 PSS alarms are defined as being service or non-service affecting. Service
affecting alarms refer to alarms that impact or interfere with network service.
Non-service affecting alarms refer to alarms that do not impact or interfere with
network service. The classification of the alarms as service or non-service affecting
will be displayed in the Additional Text column of the 5620 SAM GUI alarm
window.
The 5620 SAM allows you to configure alarm behavior using alarm policies. For
detailed information about configuring alarm behavior, see the Alarm management
chapter in the 5620 SAM User Guide.
