Checking and adjusting gear control

Rider 11
Check the gear control adjustment by setting the
gear change lever to the "N" position. When the
lever (4) goes easily into the neutral position, the
control is correctly adjusted.
In other cases, the control is adjusted in the
following way:

Detach the lock nut (1) on the ball joint.

Press the locking spring (2) backwards so that the
spherical socket (3) can be lifted away from the pivot
on the lever (4).

Adjust the spherical socket (3) position on the
connecting rod (5) until the right adjustment is
obtained.

Lock the setting with the lock nut (1) and press the
locking spring (2) into position.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Check that the locking spring goes
through the hole in the spherical socket.
Checking and adjusting freewheel
clutch Rider 11

The freewheel clutch is correctly adjusted when the
tensioning wheel's outward movement is stopped
by the belt and not by the wire.

There should be a play (A) of 8-10 mm between
the wire nipple and the lever.

Adjust the freewheel clutch wire as follows:
• Pull off the rubber sleeve (1). Loosen the nut (2)
and stretch the wire with the adjuster screw (3).
• Tighten the lock nut (2) after adjustment.
