    Check chain lubrication system. After starting the engine, use the gas control lever to set the maximum speed and check that the chain is spraying oil as shown on Fig. 9. The oil flow for chain lubrication can be adjusted by inserting a screwdriver into the bottom slot on the clutch side (Fig. 10). The flow should be adjusted according to the operating conditions.

    It is extremely important that the brake is checked for proper operation before each use and that the chain is sharp in order to maintain the correct level of protection against the chainsaw bouncing back. Removing protective devices, improper maintenance, or replacing the guide bar or chain with the wrong equivalent can increase the risk or cause serious injury.

Working with a chain saw with a blunt chain causes faster wear of the guide chain and chain drive wheel, and in extreme cases can lead to chain breakage.
