The IPL (intense pulsed light) technology sends light pulses to the skin,
which are absorbed by the hair roots. These light pulses lead to a selective
heating of the hair shaft, that finally stimulates the hair follicle to go into a
rest phase. Especially the pigment melanin found in hair or the red blood
cells receive the light energy well - that is also the reason why for exam-
ple thick black hair responds better to IPL treatment than fine, blonde hair.
Through the treatment existing hair is shed and the subsequent growth of
hair reduced. The growth cycle of hair consists though of different phases -
in order to work optimally, the application of IPL technology must be present
during the growth phase. As not all hair of the human body are in a growth
phase at the same time, the application of the device is required over a
longer period of time.
A complete hair growth cycle depends on individual factors and can - de-
pending on type, hairiness and part of the body - last from 18 to 24 months.
So permanent hair removal is only possible if the device is applied over the
entire period of time.
For your protection the device has a built-in skin contact sensors in the skin
contact area
. The sensor then only allows the emission of a light pulse

when the device is in full contact with the skin. So light pulse emissions into
the air are prevented.
The device has a built-in UV filter (integrated into the light area
which harmful UV rays are blocked.
Skin tone sensor: The device has a skin tone sensor
in the catridge. The sensor measures skin tone before and during appli-
cation. If the skin tone within treated area is too dark, light implulses are
prevented.
