Intended use
The telescopic support rod STE provides temporary support, alignment and fixing
of workpieces being mounted on flat or sloped ceilings. The telescopic support rod
must not be used for lifting, pulling or leaning. It is not intended for use in securing
cargo during transport.
Information for safe use
■ Read and follow the instructions for use.
■ The specified load limits must not be exceeded.
■ The support may only be used on level and clean surfaces.
■ Lateral loads must not be applied to the support.
■ The support may only be tightened by hand without additional tools.
■ Use only original BESSEY spare parts.
■ Wear prescribed safety equipment, especially eye protection (goggle)
and head protection (helmet).
Preparation
For use in an inclined position, first secure the support on the contact surfaces
to prevent it from slipping. To do this, screw the suitable fasteners into the holes
provided into the lower pressure plate. The screws must have a diameter of at least
0.2 in/5 mm and 0.4 in/10 mm longer than the thickness of the pressure plate.
Proceed as follows
1. Pre-set: Press the quick-slide button and extend the inner tube to the desired
length.
2. Fine adjustment: Hold the workpiece with one hand. Use the other hand to press
the pump lever until the upper pressure plate rests against the workpiece.
3. Fixing: Turn the grip clockwise until the desired holding force is attained.
4. Release: Turn the grip counter-clockwise.
5. Retract: Press the quick-slide button. Carefully retract the inner tube with your
other hand as soon as there is no longer any holding force.
