  • Page 7: Flue & Chimney Suitability

    Important Information  When installing the FlameView ST1 gas stove, careful consideration should be made to the siting of the appliance as a spillage test will need to be carried out at the Draught Diverter at the rear of the stove.
  • Page 8 Brick / stone-built chimneys or any chimney or flue which has been used for an appliance burning fuel other than gas must be thoroughly swept. Any under floor air supply to the fireplace must be completely sealed off. Ensure that the inside of the chimney / flue is in good condition along its length and check that there is no leakage of smoke through the structure of the chimney / flue during and after the smoke pellet test.

    Flue connection The flue must be at least 3m high and at least 125 mm diameter (5”) at no point should there be any negative or horizontal gradients in the flue pipe. It is recommended that a minimum height of 600mm of vertical flue pipe is made from the stove top flue connection before any significant change of direction of the flue.

    2.9.2 Spillage test A spillage test must always be carried out during commissioning of this appliance to ensure all products of combustion are safely expelled. Ensure that the spillage test can be witnessed in its entirety. WARNING: This stove will become very hot whilst carrying out the spillage test therefore suitable non-combustible protection must be worn.

  • Page 16 The logs must be positioned as in the pictures below. WARNING: Do not change the fuel bed layout, the type or number of logs. Completely fill the burner with the mica supplied. Ensure if any mica spills into or onto the pilot light assembly it is removed before commencing further.

Identify the log that sits on the mica to the left-hand side of the burner, position so each end of this log is resting on the rear and front log as shown to the left- hand picture.

    2.9.5 Operating Instructions Below – the TESC gas valve, which is situated at the bottom, right of the appliance. To gain access to the control the stove door will require to be opened by gently pulling on the underside of the left- hand side which will release the magnetic catch and allow the door to be swung open.
  • Page 19 Replacement of batteries in TESCO1 gas valve ONLY replace the batteries in the TESC01 gas valve when the appliance is turned off, and only when the appliance is completely cold. The TESCO1 gas valve which operate the appliance are battery powered and require replacing periodically, after removing the plastic front cover from the control, the batteries are fitted and positioned as shown below, (positive and negative symbols are marked on the control that must correspond with the batteries), always replace the plastic cover once batteries have been fitted.
  • Page 20 During periods of non-regular use of the appliance such as during the summer months or any other times it is IMPERATIVE that the batteries are removed and stored safely from the remote-control handset and the gas burner TESC gas valve. Only remove the batteries from the TESC gas valve when the appliance is switched off, and only when the appliance is completely cold.

On the appliance, simultaneously press the hold the - and + buttons on the TESC gas valve (i.e. not the handset) unit the red light to the bottom right of the TESC control valve begins to flash rapidly,(this will take about 5-8 seconds), then immediately as the red light starts to flash release the - and + buttons and quickly press the power button that is above them.
