IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

  1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS
  2. Check that the voltage in your home corresponds to that stated on the rating label of the appliance.
  3. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  4. To prevent fire and protect against electrical shock do not immerse base, cord, plug, or the jug kettle in water or other liquids.
  5. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  6. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children. Please use and keep the kettle and its supply cord out of the reach of children.
  7. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
  8. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Immediately remove the plug if you notice the kettle is not operating correctly. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment.
  9. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
  10. Do not use outdoors, this product is for domestic use only.
  11. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces.
  12. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  13. To disconnect, put the switch in off position, then remove plug from wall outlet.
  14. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
  15. Do not use the kettle when you have wet hands.
  16. Do not place the base of your kettle on a metal tray. If water spills over into the tray, and a build-up occurs, it could become dangerous to touch.
  17. Position the kettle to the rear of work surfaces to prevent over hanging of the power cord. Water can remain hot for a considerable time after boiling and can present a scald hazard.
  18. Scalding may occur if the lid of the jug kettle is removed during the heating cycles.
  19. Make sure the appliance never comes into contact with inflammable materials such as curtains or textiles when it is in use as they might catch fire.
  20. When removing mineral deposit, only use special products formulated for the removal of mineral deposit (decalcifying solutions). Never use ammonia or any other substance that might damage your health.
  21. Do NOT use abrasive cleaners to clean the inside or outside of the kettle, to avoid permanent damage to the surface.
  22. Ensure that the kettle is properly positioned on the power base before switching on.
  23. Do NOT refill with water while the appliance is switched on.
  24. Remove the kettle from power base before filling or pouring. If the base becomes wet, unplug the kettle from the power outlet and turn off. After it has become dry, you may replace the kettle on the base, after ensuring that the kettle is turned off.
  25. Use the kettle only with the power base supplied and vice versa.
  26. Use on a hard, flat level surface only.
  27. If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may be ejected.
  28. Extreme caution must be used when handling or moving the kettle and pouring from the kettle containing boiling water.
  29. Before pouring, wait until the kettle has stopped boiling and then pour steadily. If the kettle is tipped too much, the lid may fall off or open.
  30. Make sure that the lid and the filter are correctly and securely fitted before turning on the appliance. Failure to do so will cause the kettle not to turn off, and boiling water might eject through the spout causing scalding or injuries.
  31. When pouring a large quantity of hot water, pour slowly and do not incline the kettle past the horizontal line to avoid burns and injuries.
  32. When you are done using the appliance, turn it off and unplug the power cord from the wall socket.

SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS

A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting from becoming entangled in, or tripping over a longer cord. Extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use.

  • The electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least that of the appliance. If the electrical rating of the extension cord is too low, it could overheat and burn.
  • The resulting extended cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.

BEFORE THE FIRST USE

Remove all various packaging, stickers, or accessories from both the inside and outside of the kettle.
Adjust the length of the cord by winding it under the base.
For perfect results, operate the digital cordless water kettle with fresh water in order to clean any residue left from the manufacturing process. When the appliance has cooled down, repeat the process 3 times with fresh water, before rinsing.

  • To boil water: simply press on the "Boil" button (B) once, the LED ring (2) will come on, indicating that the appliance is operating.
  • To heat water at a selected temperature, press the temperature setting button (C) repeatedly, until selecting the temperature you want. The LED ring (2) will display a different color for each temperature setting: green (120°F / 60°C), blue (160°F / 70°C), purple (175°F/80°C) and yellow (195°F / 90°C). The corresponding LED light (a) will light on.
  • If the LED ring (2) does not come on, check if the kettle is positioned correctly on the base, and check if the base is plugged in.
  • Do not open the lid while the water is heating or boiling.
  • The digital cordless water kettle will switch off automatically when the water boils (100°C/212°F) or when the selected temperature has been reached. The unit will beep indicating the temperature has been reached and the kettle is switching off. However, you can stop the appliance anytime by pressing the off button (b) or by lifting the kettle from the power base.

Make sure that the lid is closed, and the filter is correctly and securely fitted before switching on the appliance. Failure to do so will cause the kettle not to switch off automatically.

When the water boils the kettle will beep and shut-off temporarily, and when the water temperature drops to a certain level, the kettle will automatically start boiling the water again to keep it warm at all times.

to use the keep warm function, always make sure the water level is above the "MIN" level line to make sure that the kettle will properly shut off after the water has reached boiling point.

  • To stop the keep warm feature, simply switch the kettle off, select a new temperature, or lift the kettle from its power base.
  • The kettle may be stored on the power base when not in use.
  • Always disconnect the power supply when not in use.
  • When pouring a large quantity of hot water, pour slowly and do not incline the kettle past the horizontal line to avoid burns and injuries.

Note about use in altitude: The auto-shutoff feature is programmed to turn the unit off automatically when the water boils. In high altitude, the kettle will reach a lower boiling point and will not automatically shut off when reaching boiling temperature. In this situation, the unit is programmed to shut off automatically after about 12 minutes. A longer working time is completely normal when using the unit in altitude.

SAFETY CUT-OUT

  • This cordless digital water kettle is protected with an automatic safety device, if accidentally switched on without water. However, please bear in mind that only the thermostat is switched off in case of overheat, whereas the kettle stays on.

PROBLEMS

Kettle does not work or stops before coming to a boil:

  • Kettle has not been properly connected.
  • Kettle has been switched on without water.
  • An accumulation of scale has caused the overheat cut out to operate.

Solutions:

  • Allow the kettle to cool and fill with water again.
  • Connect appliance properly.
