INSTALLING THE CUTTING HEAD SHIELD
WARNING:
To prevent serious personal injury, never
operate the unit without the cutting head shield in place.
1. Place the cutting head shield under the mount bracket (Fig. 1).
Align the holes in the cutting head shield with the holes in the
mount bracket (Fig. 1).
2. Insert the screws (x2) into the aligned holes (Fig. 1). Tighten the
screws by hand until they are finger tight.
3. Tighten the screws with a #2 Phillips screwdriver until the cutting
head shield is firmly in place. Tighten the screws equally. The
gap between the mount bracket and the cutting head shield
should be the same on each side.
INSTALLING AND ADJUSTING THE HANDLE
Installing the Handle
1. Place a ball half on each side of the shaft housing (Fig. 2). Align
each tab with its corresponding slot on the opposite ball half
(Fig. 2). Hold the two halves together. Make sure the ball is
positioned beyond the end of the safety label (Fig. 2).
2. Carefully push the rear handle bracket onto the shaft housing
(Fig. 3). Make sure the rear handle bracket is between the ball
and the shaft grip (Fig. 3).
3. Push the rear handle bracket onto the back of the ball and hold
it in place (Fig. 4).
4. Carefully maneuver the front handle bracket over the coupler
and push it onto the front of the ball (Fig. 4). Hold the front and
rear handle brackets together.
