Remote Control Information Feature Description Internal Antenna Used for transmitting and receiving* information. Command buttons (4) Used to perform Locking, Unlocking, Auxiliary channel and A U X Remote Start commands. Used to access function levels for commands, configura- Function button tion menus for programming, Car Selection, and to request A U X reports, as well as 2-way remote battery voltage.
Using your System Commanding the system Commands, Basic or Advanced, are used to activate system features and are performed by pressing one of the Command buttons. Basic commands control the most often used keyless entry and remote start features while Advanced commands control more specialized fea- tures.

Basic Commands (Direct Access) Lock Press and release Doors lock (if connected). The horn honks once, and the parking lights flash one-time. Lock LED turns on with one beep. To Lock and Panic Press and hold To lock the system, then activate Panic. For Panic to be effective,the optional horn honk feature must be connected.
AUX/Trunk** Press and hold AUX. The AUX LED turns on and tones play to confirm. The Trunk opens (if connected) when this button is pressed for two seconds. See online guide. ** This is an optional feature. See your authorized Directed dealer for details.
Remote Start Diagnostics For user safety, the system must be properly configured or remote start will not activate. A Remote Start Fault may be caused by any of sev- eral configuration issues. If the remote start fails to activate, refer to the table below for the command type and parking light flashes that will identify the configuration issue and solution.
Battery Information (2-Way LED Remote) The Responder LE remote control is powered by an internal rechargeable bat- tery that can be serviced only through an authorized Directed dealer. The information and precautions in this section can help maximize your battery’s life and usage in providing your Responder LE remote control with many years of trouble free operation.
Battery Replacement Insert a small flat-blade screwdriver or equivalent tool into the opening along the edge of the remote control near the key ring. Gently pry open the rear cover and remove to access the battery. Gently remove the used battery from the holder. Replace with a new battery and verify correct polarity during replace- ment.
