ASSEMBLY ASSEMBLING THE HANDLE Middle Shaft Installing the Middle Shaft 1. Slide the middle shaft onto the lower shafts (Fig. 1). Keep the throttle cable and wire assembly to the front of the unit. 2. Align the holes on the middle shaft with the holes on the lower Lower Shaft shafts (Fig. - Page 7 Securing the Starter Rope, Throttle Cable and Wire Assembly Starter Rope 1. Pull the starter rope and run it through the eye hook (Fig. 4). 2. Insert the throttle cable and wire assembly into the cable restraints on the upper and lower shafts (Fig. 5). NOTE: DO NOT run the throttle cable and wire assembly through the eye hook.

OIL AND FUEL USING THE RIGHT OIL Use a high-quality SAE 30 weight oil. DO NOT use dirty oil. Failure to use clean oil of the correct type can cause premature engine wear and failure. ADDING OIL: INITIAL USE Oil Fill Plug WARNING: OVERFILLING THE CRANKCASE MAY CAUSE SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY. - Page 9 FUELING THE UNIT WARNING: Gasoline is extremely flammable. Ignited vapors may explode. Always stop the engine and allow it to cool before filling the fuel tank. Do not smoke while filling the tank. Keep sparks and open flames at a distance from the area.

STARTING AND STOPPING WARNING: Operate this unit only in a well-ventilated On/Off Switch outdoor area. Carbon monoxide exhaust fumes can be Throttle Control (I = On / O = Off) lethal in a confined area. WARNING: Avoid accidentally starting the unit. To avoid serious injury, the operator and the unit must be in a stable position when pulling the starter rope (Fig. - Page 11 USING THE ELECTRIC START ACCESSORY This unit can be started with an optional electric start accessory ELECTRIC START ACCESSORIES (items sold separately). MAINTENANCE MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE WARNING: To avoid serious personal injury, always stop the engine and allow it to cool before cleaning or maintaining Perform these required maintenance procedures at the frequency the unit. Never perform cleaning or maintenance while the stated in the table. These procedures should also be a part of any unit is running. - Page 14 CHECKING THE OIL LEVEL Oil Fill Plug WARNING: Check the oil level before each use. The importance of maintaining the proper oil level cannot be overemphasized. 1. Stop the engine and allow it to cool. O-Ring 2. Set the unit on a flat, level surface. NOTE: Failure to keep the engine level may result in oil overfill.
