SECTION 11: LUBRICATION

WARNING:
any kind of work on the lawn mower.
Blade Control:
Lubricate the pivot points on the blade control handle and the brake cable at least once a
season with light oil. See Figure 10. The blade control must operate freely in both directions.
Wheels:
Lubricate the wheel at least once a season with light oil (or engine oil). Also, if the wheels are removed
for any reason, lubricate the surface of the axle bolt and the inner surface of the wheel with light oil. See Figure
10.
Caster Assembly:
caster assembly. See Figure 10.
Engine:
Follow engine manual for lubrication instructions.

SECTION 12: OFF-SEASON STORAGE

The following steps should be taken to prepare lawn mower for storage.
• Clean and lubricate mower thoroughly as described in the lubrication instructions.
• Refer to engine manual for correct engine storage instructions.
• Coat mower's cutting blade with chassis grease to prevent rusting.
• Store mower in a dry, clean area. Do not store next to corrosive materials, such as fertilizer.
NOTE:
When storing any type of power equipment in an unventilated or metal storage shed, care should be
taken to rust-proof the equipment. Using a light oil or silicone, coat the equipment, especially cables and all
moving parts.
Always stop engine and disconnect spark plug wire before cleaning, lubricating or doing
