IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Read these instructions.

  5. Do not use this apparatus near water.

  7. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

  9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
  15. Grounding or Polarization – This product may be equipped with a polarized alternating-current line plug (a plug having one blade wider than the other). This plug will fit into the power outlet only one way. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug fully into the outlet, try reversing the plug. If the plug should still fail to fit, contact your electrician to replace your obsolete outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug.
  16. Alternate Warnings – This product is equipped with a three-wire ground-type plug, a plug having a third (grounding) pin. This plug will only into a grounding-type power outlet. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug into the outlet, contact your electrician to replace your obsolete outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the grounding-type plug.
  17. Ventilation – Slots and openings in the cabinet are provided for ventilation and to ensure reliable operation of the product and to protect it from overheating, and these openings must not be blocked or covered. The openings should never be blocked by placing the product on a bed, sofa, rug, or other similar surface. This product should not be placed in a built-in installation such as a bookcase or rack unless proper ventilation is provided or the manufacturer's instructions have been adhered to.
  18. The MAINS plug or an appliance coupler is used as the disconnect device, the disconnect device shall remain readily operable.

  23. The mains plug is used as disconnect device. The mains plug of apparatus should not be obstructed OR should be easily accessed during intended use. To be completely disconnect the power input, the mains plug or apparatus shall be disconnected from the mains.
  24. Battery shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
  25. Excessive sound pressure from earphones and headphone can cause hearing loss.

CONNECTING THE UNIT TO POWER

Plug one end of the AC adaptor into the DC power Input, and then plug the other end into AC wall outlet. Before switching on the unit, make sure that the voltage of your electricity supply is the same as that indicated on the rating plate.

BATTERY BACKUP

The unit has pre-installed a CR-2032 lithium battery inside the back-up battery compartment. In case of power failure or interrupted AC power, the current time, alarm time and the stored radio stations are preserved in the memory of the unit by means of battery back-up function.

CHANGING THE BACKUP BATTERY

The backup battery will last for about two years. Change the battery when necessary.

  1. Use a small screwdriver to remove the screw securing the battery compartment cover. Be careful not to lose this small screw.
  2. Remove the original battery from the battery compartment and insert the new battery into the battery compartment the same way. Make sure the positive (+) sign is facing upward.
  3. Screw back the battery compartment cover.

SETTING THE CLOCK USING AUTO TIME SET

The unit is preset the clock to Eastern Standard Time, to change to TIME zone, follow the steps below.

  1. Press the POWER/AL.OFF button to turn the clock radio off.
  2. Press the MEM/TIME button, the time on the display will start blinking.
  3. Press the ZONE button located on the back of the unit to select the time zone.
  4. Press the MEM/TIME button to confirm the time zone.

There are 7 pre-stored time zone.
AST – Atlantic Standard Time
EST – Eastern Standard Time (Default Setting)
CST – Central Standard Time
MST – Mountain Standard Time
PST – Pacific Standard Time
AKST – Alaska Standard Time
HST – Hawaii Standard Time

If the time is incorrect, follow the instructions for setting the clock manually.

SETTING THE CLOCK MANUALLY

  1. When the unit is RADIO OFF, press the MEM/TIME button, the time will begin to flash on the LCD display.
  2. Press the TUNE+/HOUR button to adjust the hour.
  3. Press the TUNE/MIN button to adjust the minute.
  4. When the correct time is selected, press the MEM/TIME button again to confirm.

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME

If the current date is during Daylight Savings Time, set the DST button on the back of the unit to the ON position. If it is not Daylight Savings Time, set the DST button to the OFF position.

SETTING THE ALARMS

  1. When the unit is RADIO OFF, press and hold the AL1/P+ or AL2/P button. The existing ALARM time will show on the LCD display blinking.
  2. Press the TUNE+/HOUR button to adjust the alarm hour.
  3. Press the TUNE/MIN button to adjust the alarm minute.
  4. When the correct alarm time is selected, press the AL1/P+ or AL2/P button to confirm.
  5. Press the AL1/P+ or AL2/P button to select the ALARM wake up sound mode or cancel the alarm.

TURN OFF THE ALARM

When the Alarm activate, press the POWER/AL.OFF button to turn off the Alarm.

SNOOZE FUNCTION

  1. Whenever the alarm activates, it can be temporarily suspended for a short period of 9 minutes by pressing the SNOOZE button once.
  2. The alarm will then automatically activate again after the 9 minutes SNOOZE period has ended.
  3. This procedure can be repeated for up to approximately one hour.

LISTENING TO THE RADIO

  1. Press the AM/FM button to select AM or FM broadcasting.
  2. Press the TUNE+/HOUR button or TUNE/MIN button step by step to tune to the desired radio stations.
  3. Press and hold the TUNE+/HOUR button or TUNE/MIN button for approx. 1 second, it will start to search the next radio station in the direction of the search. The search operation simply finds stations with strong signals. Stations with weak reception can only be tuned in manually.

ANTENNA

For best reception, fully extend the FM wire antenna to receive FM stations. For AM reception, the unit has a built-in antenna, turn the whole unit for best reception.

SAVING A RADIO STATION TO THE MEMORY

  1. Tune the radio to the desired station.
  2. Press the MEM/TIME button, the LCD display will show XX blinking (where XX is the memory station number from 0 to 10). Press the AL1/P+ or AL2/P button to select the desired memory station number.
  3. Press the MEM/TIME button again to store the station in the memory..
  4. Up to 10 AM and 10 FM radio stations can be stored in the memory.

TO LISTEN TO A SAVED RADIO STATION

In FM or AM mode, press the AL1/P+ or AL2/P button to select the desire radio station.

SLEEP TO MUSIC FUNCTION

  1. This function allows you to listen to the radio while you fall asleep.
  2. Press the SLEEP button, the display will show the default sleep time of 90 minutes
  3. Press the SLEEP button again to adjust the desired sleep time.
  4. The options are 90-80-70-60-50-40-30-20-10-min. or OFF
  5. Now you can enjoy listening to the radio for the pre-set period of sleep time.
  6. After this pre-set time has elapsed, the unit will switch off automatically.

AUX IN CONNECTION

  1. Insert one side of the audio cable (requires 3.5mm stereo plug, not supplied) into the line-out jack or phones jack on your MP3 player or audio device and the other side to the aux-in jack on the unit.
  2. Press the AUX button to select AUX mode, AUX will display in the LCD display.
  3. Turn on your MP3 player and follow the playback instruction.
  4. To stop this function, simply turned off your MP3 player.
