HOW TO USE
ADJUSTING SLEEVE/SPINDLE ZERO SETTING
①Remove any grease or dust from the measuring surfaces using a
clean cloth, such as a lens cleaning cloth.
Make sure no foreign matter is adhered to the measuring surfaces.
②With Spindle Clamp loose, turn until measuring surfaces touch.
Turn until Ratchet Stop clicks 1-3 times. ( Fig.1)
For MC122-50C, place the provided Calibration Standard between the
Measuring Surfaces.
③If the zero line on the Thimble lines up with the line on the Sleeve, then
the origin is set. ( Fig.2)
If they do not line up, adjust the zero-point according to the procedure
below.
1. Tighten Spindle Clamp to lock Spindle.
2. Insert the spanner into 0-point Adjustment Hole on rear of Sleeve.
3. Use spanner to rotate Sleeve to align the 0-Point lines. ( Fig.3)

COUNTER DISPLAY SETTING
Gauge includes a Mechanical Counter for use as a quick reference
display in addition to the measurement shown conventionally on the
Sleeve Scale. Please note the following points about the measurement
displayed on the Mechanical Counter:
1. Use the reading from the Mechanical Counter only as a guide.
Since the Counter is a gear driven mechanism, there is some
backlash error and it will not necessarily match the reading on the
Sleeve/Thimble. When there is a discrepancy, please treat the
measurement shown on the Sleeve Scale as the correct value.
※The specifications listed for this product are for the measurement displayed
on the Sleeve Scale. The Counter reading is only to be used as a guide.
2. In the unlikely event that the Counter and Scale readings deviate
significantly, use the following procedure to adjust the Counter display.
Please note, before adjustment check that the Sleeve/Thimble zero
Thimble
setting is correct.
※For MC122-50C, use the provided Calibration Standard between the
Measuring Surfaces.
①Using a precision ○ + type screwdriver, remove the two screws
securing the Counter Cover Plate, and then the two additional
screws holding the Counter Module in place.(Fig.4)
Ratchet Stop
②Remove the Counter for access, and rotate the gear to adjust. Set the
counter to 0.02〜0.03 above the reference value.(Fig.5)
③Hold the Counter Module by the outer frame without touching the
counter dials or gears, and replace the Module into the Micrometer
body.(Fig.6)
※If you touch the counter dials or gears the value may change when
being inserted.
④Replace the Counter Module screws to secure, and then replace the
Counter Cover Plate and screws.
OPERATION
①Use a lens cleaning cloth or similar to clean the Anvil and Spindle of
any grease or debris.
②Loosen the Clamp and place the workpiece between the Measuring
Surfaces.
③Rotate the Thimble using the Ratchet Stop until the workpiece contacts
the Measurement Surfaces and the Ratchet clicks 1〜3 times. (Fig.7)
④A rough reading is displayed on the Counter display.
※For a precise measurement please read the value shown on the
Sleeve/Thimble Scale. ( Fig.8)
