Using the Ear Thermometer When using the thermometer for the first time, please set the parameters of the unit as per the following instructions. • Insert the 2 x AA batteries into the unit (see p16) Note: The use of temperature readings for self-diagnosis is dangerous. - Page 10 Note: Once the date is set, the unit will turn off automatically. Cleaning and Maintenance If the unit is used without a probe cover, clean the probe as follows: – Use a cotton swab with the alcohol (70% concentration) to clean the lens (on the inside of the probe). • To safely clean the probe window, gently wipe its surface with a cotton swab slightly moistened with isopropyl alcohol and immediately wipe dry with a clean cotton swab. -
