The machine may only be used for dry machin-
ing of masonry.
Be careful when cutting grooves, e. g. in struc-
tural walls: See Information on Structures.
Use appropriate detectors to determine if
utility lines are hidden in the work area or
call the local utility company for assist-
ance.
Contact with electric lines can lead to fire and
electric shock. Damaging a gas line can lead
to explosion. Penetrating a water line causes
property damage or may cause an electric
shock.
Hold the power tool only by the insulated
gripping surfaces, when performing an op-
eration where the cutting tool may run into
hidden wiring or its own cord.
Contact with a "live" wire will make exposed
metal parts of the tool "live" and shock the op-
erator.
Caution! Sparks can also reach combustible
materials that are covered.
Blocking the cutting disc leads to jerking reac-
tion forces on the machine. In this case switch
off the machine immediately.
Observe the manufacturer's instructions for
mounting and operating the diamond cutting
discs.
Caution! Diamond cutting discs do not stop
running immediately when the machine is
turned off. Do not exert any pressure against
the side of the diamond cutting discs.
Operate the machine with dust extraction only.
In addition, wear a dust mask. The vacuum
cleaner must be approved for the extraction of
masonry dust. Insert the extraction elbow 16
into the protective cover fixture and connect
the vacuum hose (accessory).
Caution! Diamond cutting discs become very
hot during operation; do not touch them before
they have cooled down.
Never set down the rotating machine on the
chaser rollers 10, moreover lay it on the side
so that the cutting discs can run freely and do
not point toward the body.
Always switch the machine off and wait until it
has come to a standstill before placing it down.
Never allow children to use the machine.
Bosch is only able to ensure perfect operation
of the machine if the original accessories in-
tended for it are used.

Information on Structures
Slots in structural walls are subject to the Stand-
ard DIN 1053, Part 1 or country-specific regula-
tions.
These regulations are to be observed under all
circumstances. Before beginning work, consult
the responsible structural engineer, architects or
the construction supervisor.
The permitted slot depth and width depends on
the slot length, wall thickness and the used build-
ing material.

Intended Use

With a firm support of the cutting guide, the ma-
chine is intended to cut or slot mainly mineral ma-
terials such as reinforced concrete, brickwork
and road surfaces without the use of water.
Adjusting the Protective Cover
The protective cover can be adjusted within a
certain limit to the machine.
Release the quick-clamping lever for the protec-
tive cover 4 and adjust the protective cover ac-
cording to the working conditions. Make sure not
to change the setting of the adjustment screw 3.
Tighten the protective cover again with the quick-
clamping lever 4.

Auxiliary Handle

Depending on the working manner, screw the
auxiliary handle into the right or left side of the
handle holder.
After releasing the locking screw for the auxiliary-
handle holder 12, the handle holder can be
adapted to the respective working position in
steps of 30°.
When tightening the locking screw for the auxil-
iary-handle holder 12, pay attention that the
four positioning pins at the handle holder are en-
gaged in the holes of the protective cover.
