Own Number
N o t e: The contents of this menu may be diff e re n t
depending on the SIM card.
You can enter your own name and number using this
menu. If you have subscribed to the Alternative Line
Service, you can select a line with
The following options are available:
Add: allows you to add name and number.
Erase: allows you to erase name and number.
Edit: allows you to edit name and number. If your
SIM card supports ALS, only the Edit soft key
displays. Press the Edit soft key and you can
setup or edit your own name for the ALS line.
Language
You can set a different setting for the text language
and voice language. When the language option of
your SIM card is set to Automatic, the language is
automatically selected according to the language of
the SIM card used.
You can also set the default text input mode. For
details on the text input mode, refer to page 33.

Any-key Answer
Depending on the setting of the Any-key Answer
option, you can answer an incoming call by pressing
any key except
and the Reject soft key.
To reject the call, press
this option is set to OFF, use

options are available.
ON: you can press any key except
OFF: you can only press
Backlight
You can select whether or not the phone uses the
backlight. A marginal increase in standby/talk time
can be achieved by turning the backlight off. The
following options are available.
OFF: the backlight is not used.
Short: the backlight comes on when you press a key
or receive a call and switches off 10seconds after
the last key is pressed.
Long: the backlight comes on when you press a key
or receive a call and switches off 20 seconds after
the last key is pressed.
