General Guidelines

  • If the device was damaged in transit, don't install or use it and contact your dealer.
  • Keep the device away from children and unauthorised users.
  • There are no user-serviceable parts inside the device. Refer to an authorized dealer for service and/or spare parts.
  • Indoor use only. Keep this device away form rain, moisture, splashing and dripping liquids.
    Never put objects filled with liquid on top.
  • Keep this device away from dust and extreme temperatures.
  • Protect this device from shocks and abuse. Avoid brute force when operating the device.
  • Familiarise yourself with the functions of the device before actually using it.
  • Damage caused by user modifications to the device is not covered by the warranty.
  • Only use the device for its intended purpose. Using the device in an unauthorised way will void the warranty.
  • Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this manual is not covered by the warranty and the dealer will not accept responsibility for any ensuing defects or problems.

Operation

  • Place the scale on a flat, steady vibration-free surface.
  • Use the On/Off button [C] to switch on the scale.
  • Select the desired weighing unit (gram, ounce, carat or grains) by pressing on the mode button [D]. The selected unit is shown on the display [B].
  • Always place the weight in the centre of the balance and wait until the measurement is stabilized before reading the value [A].
  • When tare needs to be subtracted, place the tare weight on the scale and wait until the measurement is stabilized. Press the tare button [E] to reset the scale to zero.
  • Note that the scale has an auto-power off function. The scale will switch off after ±30 seconds when no activity is detected.
  • To calibrate the scale, a weight of exactly 500g (or 2500 carat, 17.637ounce or 7716, 1792 grains) is needed (not included).
  • Press and hold the CAL button [F] until CAL is displayed. Press the CAL button [F] again.
  • Place the calibration weight in the centre of the scale and press the CAL button [F]. The display shows Pass. Remove the weight and switch off the scale.

Troubleshooting

Display meaning
blank, "lo" or "88888" Batteries are low.
OUT2 Calibration needed.
O-Ld Scale overloaded.
"EEEEE" or "LLLLL" Weighing sensor possibly damaged. Try calibrating to resolve the problem.
UNST Scale not on stable surface (vibration)

Batteries

  • Slide the battery cover at the back of the scale open.
  • Insert 2 new type AAA (LR03C) batteries with polarity as indicated inside the battery casing.
  • Close the battery compartment.
  • Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries and do not throw batteries in fire as they might explode.


handle batteries with care, observe warnings on battery casing. Dispose of batteries in accordance with local regulations. Keep batteries away from children.
