Install batteries
The thermometer requires 2 AA batteries and the sensor requires
2 AAA batteries (none supplied) for power.
- Remove the battery covers.
- Place batteries in the sensor, following the polarity symbols (+ and –) marked inside.
- Place batteries in the thermometer, following the polarity symbols (+ and –) marked inside.
- Press the RESET button on both units.
Note: For best results, always install batteries in the remote sensor first, then in the thermometer.
Battery Notes
- Replace batteries when the battery icon appears or thedisplay dims.
- Dispose of batteries promptly and properly. Do notburn or bury them.
- Use only fresh batteries of the required size and type.
- Do not mix batteries of different types, capacities, orchemistry.
- If you do not plan to use the thermometer for amonth or more, remove the battery. Batteries can leak chemicals that can damage electronic parts.
Set your thermometer
- Select the temperature format with the ˚C/˚F switchinside the battery compartment.
- Place the sensor near the thermometer.
- Press SEARCH on the thermometer to search for the sensor. The reception icon blinks on the thermometer for about 4 minutes.
- Close the battery cover when batteries are installed, and setup is complete.
The red LED on the sensor flashes when it transmits an RF signal to the receiver.
Mount your thermometer
Place the sensor out of direct sunlight and moisture, and no more than 100 feet (30.5 meters) from the thermometer. Place it facing the thermometer with few obstructions, and away from metallic and electronic objects.
On flat surfaces
Place the thermometer indoors and the remote sensor outdoors. Place them on flat surfaces using their respective stands (included).
On the wall
- Select an indoor wall for the thermometer and anoutdoor wall for the remote sensor.
- Remove the stands from the thermometer andremote sensor.
- Drill a hole in the wall.
- Thread a screw (not supplied) into the hole and let itextend about v in. (0.48 cm) from the wall.
- Fit the head of the screw into the keyhole slot.
Use Your Thermometer
The thermometer displays the current, minimum, and maximum temperatures collected by the sensor and thermometer. Outdoor data is collected and displayed every 40 seconds and indoor data is collected and displayed every 10 seconds.
- Press MEMORY to toggle between the current, maximum (MAX) and minimum (MIN) temperatures.
- To clear the records, hold down MEMORY until a beep sounds. The memory is cleared.
- If you are using morethan one sensor, press CHANNEL to select a specific channel.
Temperature Trend

The thermometer can track temperature changes. The trend line shows the direction of the temperature change.
Use with More than One Sensor
- Remove the battery cover onall sensors.
- Select a different channelfor each sensor by switching CHANNEL 1 2 3.
- Press CHANNEL on the thermometer to switch between readings from each sensor.
- To auto-scan between sensors, hold down CHANNEL for 2 seconds. Press CHANNEL or MEMORY to end auto-scan.
Care for Your Thermometer
- Keep the thermometer and remote sensor dry. If they getwet, wipe them dry immediately.
- Use and store the thermometer only in room temperatureenvironments.
- Handle the thermometer and remote sensor carefully. Donot drop them.
- Keep the thermometer away from dust and dirt, and wipeit with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking new.
- Never immerse the product in water. This can causeelectrical shock and damage the product.
- Do not subject the thermometer to extreme force, shock, or fluctuations in temperature or humidity.
- Do not tamper with the internal components.
- Do not scratch the display.
Hints and Tips
- Insert batteries and select the channel before mountingthe sensor.
- LLL or HHH appears when the temperature is out of range. See Specifications for range information.
- If the temperature on your sensor does not match theone on your thermometer, press SEARCH to retrieve the signal again. Place the sensor out of direct sunlight and moisture.
- Do not place the sensor more than 100 feet (30.5 meters)from the thermometer.
- Position the sensor facing the thermometer, minimizingobstructions such as doors, walls, and furniture.
- Place the sensor away from metallic or electronic objects.
- Position the sensor close to the thermometer during coldwinter months, as below-freezing temperatures may affect battery performance and signal transmission.
- If you still do not receive a signal, check the batteries, obstructions, and remote unit location.
- Signals from household devices, such as doorbells, electronic garage doors, and home security systems, may cause temporary reception failure. This is normal and does not affect general product performance. The reception will resume once the interference ends.
- The display in outdoor thermometers remains operationalto -4°F (-20°C) with adequate power. If the unit's performance fails due to low temperature, the unit will resume proper functioning as the temperature rises to within the normal temperature range.
