Tuning to a Program

To tune directly to a current program listed in the guide, point to the
program and press OK.
To see information about a program in the guide, press INFO.
The Program Details screen appears and gives you
several options.
Then, you can select:
• View Channel to tune to that channel
• Buy Program to purchase the program
• Buy and Record to purchase the program and record it on your VCR.
This option is only available when an additional fee is required to
record a program. Make sure to set a timer or press record on the
VCR to initiate the recording. (See Timers Feature in The Menu
System section.)
• Other Times to see what other times the program is available. The
program title is automatically entered and sorted in the AlphaSort
control panel.
The options available to you may vary according to the type of program
you select.
Buy and Record Option
The Buy and Record option is only available
for those programs that require additional
fees for you to record the event. In these
cases, if you do not choose to Buy and
Record, DIRECTV will encode the signal so
that it cannot be recorded.
