Programming the Remote
The DSS remote can be programmed to control most brands of
remote controllable TVs. Most RCA, GE and ProScan TVs are already
programmed. Other manufacturer' s brands need to be programmed.
Follow these steps whenever you need to install or change the
batteries in your DSS remote.
1.
Pull off the cover of the battery compartment.
2. Place four AAA batteries as shown, matching the + and - end
of each battery in each compartment.
3. Replace the cover.
To determine whether your remote needs to be programmed, turn the
TV on, point the remote at the TV, and press the TV button. Then
press CHAN UP or DOWN to see whether the remote changes the
channels.
Follow these steps to program your remote.

Turn on the TV.
Look up your brand and code number(s) on code list.
Press
and hold
the TV button.
Enter the three-digit code from the code list.
Release the TV button
and press CHAN UP or DOWN to see
whether the TV channel changes. If it doesn' t, try the next
code listed for your brand.
Repeat these steps until pressing the CHAN UP/DOWN
buttons changes the channel.
