When I go to drive any kind of screw or bolt, the impact makes the slipping sound and just stops completely, and I have to let go of the trigger to get it to drive the screw a little farther. What's going one? I have a Riobi and it never does that. I thought maybe there was a torque setting, but it appears there is not.

The DeWalt DCF840 impact driver may be making a slipping sound and stopping when driving screws or bolts due to oil leakage from the front of the tool. This could indicate an issue with the internal lubrication or impact mechanism, especially if the tool was used for only a short time before the oil started leaking. Excess oil loss can affect the hammering action, causing reduced performance, slipping sounds, or stopping during operation.
