HV Button
HV and HV Charge modes are enabled by pressing the HV button
near the shift lever.
The HV indicator comes on in the instrument panel when either HV
mode is enabled.
When enabled, the system remains in HV mode until the HV button
is pressed again.
● HV Mode and HV Charge Mode
Pressing the button
: HV mode starts.
HV mode maintains the current charge level of the High Voltage
battery.
The gasoline engine may run at times to drive the generator in this
mode.
Switch to HV mode from EV mode when it is most
appropriate
: Switching between EV and HV modes under certain
circumstances may help improve your vehicle's fuel economy. Here
are some examples of appropriate situations.
When driving at highway speed, the vehicle requires high power.
Press the HV button to switch to HV mode.
When driving in urban areas where the vehicle is likely to stop
often, or move at low speed, press the HV button to switch back to
EV mode.
In EV mode, you can use the remaining battery as you approach
your destination where the vehicle can be charged.
The High Voltage battery level is being kept.
