Chapter 5 FUEL fuEl cont. Overfilling Overfilling of the fuel tank can affect the evaporative emission control system and can also result in a smell of fuel inside the vehicle, therefore: • Petrol tanks should always be filled at the intermediate or fast fill rate. Do not add any more petrol after the petrol filler first clicks off or petrol blows back, as this allows room for the petrol to expand inside the tank.

In no event will GM Holden be responsible or bear any liability for any damage or loss that may arise in connection with the use of any fuel that does not meet this specification.
Page 133
To ensure continuing compliance with the regulations, you must have the vehicle serviced at the frequency shown in the Maintenance schedule, in the Service/warranty booklet. Your Holden Dealer will maintain the vehicle’s emission control system as per the vehicles’ service manual.

Chapter 7 WEEKLY CHECKS EXTERIoR CHECkS cont. TyRES Tyre air pressure Weekly checking of the air pressure of your tyres (including the spare) ensures your safety, as well as reducing fuel consumption and increasing the life of your tyres. For constant long distance or rough road driving, daily checking is recommended.
Page 162
Check the tyres regularly for damage: stones, punctures, cuts, cracks, bulges etc. Check the rims for damage. Consult a Holden Dealer if in doubt. Alignment and balance Improper wheel alignment can cause the tyres to wear faster and to wear unevenly. It can also cause the vehicle to pull to the left or right.
Page 163
Any doubts about the tyres on your vehicle should be referred to your Holden Dealer. New tyres should be fitted in pairs to the front. If replacing only one tyre, it should be paired on the same axle with the least worn of the other three.
Page 164
Their use would increase costs, may be detrimental to the operation of your vehicle and may void your New Vehicle Warranty, to the extent that Holden considers the non-recommended fluid to have affected the specifications or quality of your vehicle.
Page 165
If, after taking into account the above factors, you are still concerned that your engine has excessive oil consumption then you should discuss the situation with a Holden Dealer. Remember that an engines oil consumption should not be judged until it has...
Page 166
If an oil leak is seen before the service is due you should consult a Holden Dealer as soon as possible. The transmission fluid level should be checked and the fluid replaced at the intervals shown in the Maintenance schedule of the Service/warranty booklet.
Page 167
Do not spill coolant on the vehicle’s exterior surfaces as it can damage the paintwork. If you do, wash it off immediately. Ensure that the long life coolant in your vehicle conforms to Holden specifications. Refer to Specifications in chapter 8.
Page 168
Wipe clean the sides of the cap and remove. Top up with heavy duty brake fluid (both the clutch system and the brake system use brake fluid) which meets the Holden specification number. Refer to Specifications in chapter 8. Remember to replace the cap and clean any spilt fluid.
Page 169
If power steering fluid is required, refer to Specifications in chapter 8. Do not overfill, and remember to replace the cap tightly and clean up any spilt fluid. If the power steering fluid requires constant topping up it could indicate that a fault exists. Contact your Holden Dealer immediately.
Page 170
To ensure a clear windscreen, use the correct amount of windscreen washer additive. Refer to your Holden Dealer. Note Do not use ordinary soap or detergent as these not only froth up but will also damage the wiper rubbers.
Page 171
7-13 Chapter 7 WEEKLY CHECKS BATTERy Battery maintenance Your vehicle is fitted with a maintenance free battery, which means that the fluid level does not need to be checked. WARNING • Batteries emit an explosive gas mixture which may be ignited by sparks or naked flames.

Page 193
PVC coating should be checked and if necessary, restored to perfect condition. Commercial bitumen and rubber materials can damage PVC coating. Have all work on the underbody performed by a Holden Dealer, as it requires knowledge of the specified materials and experience concerning their application.
Page 194
10-6 Chapter 10 CLEANING EXTERIoR ClEAnInG cont. PolISHInG Under normal circumstances the paint does not need polishing to retain its shine. A weekly wash is sufficient. After the windscreen has been cleaned with a wet sponge it should be wiped over with a soft, lint free cloth or chamois. Refer to your Holden Dealer for windscreen washer additive.
