To charge the Growatt SPF 6000 ES PLUS battery using AC and solar power instead of a generator:

1. Connect Solar Panels: Wire the PV panel cables to the PV input terminals on the inverter.

2. Connect AC Input: Use a circuit breaker for AC input overcurrent protection and connect the AC source (like the grid) to the AC input terminals of the inverter.

3. Set Operation Mode: Use the SBU mode. In this mode, the inverter prioritizes Solar (S), then Battery (B), and uses Utility (U) only if needed.

4. Configure Charging Parameters: Program settings 19 and 20 to appropriate voltage levels (e.g., 56.7V) to ensure proper charging behavior.

5. Ensure Correct Communication: Connect the battery BMS communication cable from the BMS Port on the inverter to the PCS Port on the battery.

This setup allows the inverter to charge the battery using solar power and AC input without requiring a generator.

Using SPF 6000 ES, Off grid Battery back up with CATL Lifepo4 300AH. In no load condition, 100% battery fully charged , CB off position in Inverter output, the input current is 3A. Is it more current used in no load condition, because 70 W mentioned in Spec.?

The input current is 3A in no-load condition for the Growatt SPF 6000 ES PLUS because the power consumption at no load is 70W. Given that the nominal DC input voltage is 48V, the current can be calculated using the formula:

Power (W) = Voltage (V) × Current (A)

Rearranging for current:

Current (A) = Power (W) / Voltage (V)
= 70W / 48V
1.46A

However, considering possible losses and standby consumption, the actual measured input current may be around 3A at no load.

Battery Equalization Equalization function is added into charge controller. It reverses the buildup of negative chemical effects like stratification, a condition where acid concentration is greater at the bottom of the battery than at the top. Equalizationalso helps to remove sulfate crystals that might have built up on the plates. If left unchecked, this condition, called sulfation, will reduce the overall capacity of the battery.
