DESCRIPTION OF THE APPLIANCE

DESCRIPTION OF THE APPLIANCE

  1. Drip tray
  2. Handles
  3. On/Off light
  4. Thermostat
  5. Cleaning spatula
  6. Ceramic glass grill plate (inside the white line)

The ceramic glass electric grill is a safe and healthy alternative to traditional grilling, without using chemicals to light it or producing fumes that can be harmful to the environment. This grill has a ceramic glass plate to distribute heat evenly for better cooking results. The grill has been designed to cook a wide variety of foods directly on the sturdy ceramic plate with a reduced amount of added fat.

The non-porous ceramic coating on the grill plate serves to keep nutrients and oil inside the food, for juicier, more delicious results with all of their nutritional qualities, or to leave excess fats to flow onto the plate.

USING FOR THE FIRST TIME

It is possible for there to be some smoke when the grill is heated for the first time. This is nothing to worry about, since it is normal and not dangerous.

  • Plug the appliance into the mains power.
  • Set the thermostat (D) to maximum. Do not place any food on the grill.
  • After about 4-5 minutes, switch off the grill and leave it to cool. At this point, the grill is ready to use.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Before using the appliance, clean the grill plate thoroughly with a mild, diluted detergent and dry thoroughly.

  • Place the drip tray (A) in the back part of the grill, inserting it on the special guides.
  • Plug the appliance into the mains power.
  • Turn the thermostat (D) clockwise from "OFF" to the required setting. The on/off light (C) will switch on.
  • Pre-heat the grill for about 3 minutes and then place the food on the grill plate (F), inside the square bordered by the white line.
  • When the food is cooked, switch off the grill by turning the thermostat (D) to "OFF" and unplug the appliance.

Never touch the hot grill plate during use; danger of burning or scalds.
Never use plastic utensils. Never place plastic containers on the grill.

Cooking hints

  • For faster, more even cooking, cut the food into small pieces the same size.
  • Before placing the food on the grill plate, grease it with a little cooking oil for better results and to stop foods from sticking. Vegetables, eggs, doughnuts, fish, prawns, etc., need only a small amount of oil. Meat, poke, bacon, etc. need less oil, as they are already quite fatty.
  • Do not use acidic condiments or sugar during cooking. If necessary, place the food on a sheet of aluminium foil.
  • Use aluminium foil for foods needing steam cooking or to trap cooking juices (and flavours).
  • It is possible to use salt and spices to enhance flavours during cooking.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

After use, leave the grill to cool before cleaning.

  • After each use, remove any foods from the ceramic plate or drip tray using the spatula provided (E), to prevent them from sticking. Scrape the still warm surfaces in ceramic to remove all food residues.
  • For stubborn food residues, wet them with a sponge or pour a little water onto the surface, heat the grill to maximum power for a few minutes (there will be steam and very hot water) to soften the food and then use the spatula (E) to remove all residues.
  • Clean the grill plate (F) and drip tray (A) with a mild detergent and a damp cloth.

Dry well before using again.
