Adjusting the volume / Canceling the Auto Muting function

Adjusting the volume

Turn the volume knob (
Hint
The volume may be low when you use certain headphones. In this case, switch the output setting to [High Gain Output]. To
change the setting, tap the menu items in the following order.
– [Settings] – [Output Settings] ([Basic Settings]) – [High Gain Output] ([Headphone Output]).
Then, tap the appropriate item for the headphones that you are using.
Auto Muting function
The player is equipped with an Auto Muting function. The Auto Muting function prevents excessive output (loud volume)
from the headphones.
In the following cases, the Auto Muting function turns on and sound output stops. The MUTING lamp (
the Auto Muting function turns on.
When you connect headphones to the player.
When you turn on the player while headphones are connected.
When you turn the [Direct Source (Direct)] function on or off while headphones are connected.
When you change the setting for [High Gain Output] while headphones are connected.
When the output destination changes from another device to the headphone jacks on the player while headphones
are connected. (Example: from a Bluetooth device to the headphones, or from a USB audio device to headphones
that are connected to the player)
When you switch the headphones from the headphone jack (Stereo Mini) to the headphone jack (Balanced
Standard), or vice versa.
To turn the volume back up
Follow the message on the screen and perform the operations below.
1.
Turn the volume knob all the way to the left.
2.
Tap [Clear] on the screen.
3.
Turn the volume knob to adjust the volume.
To turn off the Auto Muting function
