tion pack upon completion of work.
These instructions do not cover all variations in systems or provide for every possible contingency to be met in connection with
the installation. Should further information be desired or should particular problems arise which are not covered sufficiently for the
purchaser's purposes, the matter should be referred to your installing dealer or local distributor.
Note: The manufacturer recommends installing only approved matched indoor and outdoor systems. All of the manufacture's split
systems are A.H.R.I. rated only with TXV/EEV indoor systems. Some of the benefits of installing approved matched indoor and
outdoor split systems are maximum efficiency, optimum performance and the best overall system reliability.

Do you have a question about the 4TWR6 Series and is the answer not in the manual?
Questions and answers
My installer has copper tubing not connected to anything in the outside of unit it runs across the concrete. I would like a photo of a completed unit and what it should look like. Also the furnace units ( I have 2) both have wires hanging outside the unit! The new units installed are XR 4TWR6048N100AA. This is not what a completely installed unit should look like. I do not think wires should be hanging outside the metal coverings of the unit.
A properly installed Trane 4TWR6 Series unit should meet the following conditions:
1. Unit Position and Support:
- The unit must be level and securely fastened.
- If mounted on a roof, the roof must support the unit’s weight.
- Vibration isolation is recommended to reduce noise transfer.
2. Copper Tubing (Refrigerant Lines):
- Maximum total line length: 150 feet.
- Maximum vertical rise: 50 feet.
- Service valve sizes must match those specified in the manual.
- For lines over 50 feet, follow guidelines from the Refrigerant Piping Application Guide.
3. Electrical Wiring:
- Power supply must match the nameplate rating.
- Follow all national, state, and local electrical codes.
- A separate high-voltage disconnect switch must be installed at the outdoor unit.
- Flexible electrical conduit is recommended to prevent noise from vibration.
- Grounding must be done per code requirements.
4. Live Components and Safety:
- Disconnect power and discharge capacitors before servicing.
- Follow the wiring diagram inside the control box cover.
The system should be matched with an approved indoor unit for best performance, efficiency, and reliability.

My unit short cycles on and off several times at start up during the heating mode is that because the system is low on refrigerant charge?
Yes, based on the context, a Trane 4TWR6 Series unit may short cycle on and off during startup in heating mode if the system is very low on refrigerant charge. This is suggested under the troubleshooting section where low refrigerant charge is identified as a possible issue affecting performance.
