Inside of the Book Safe (1), on the back of the Lock, is a Lever with a red cap over it.
Remove the cap before proceeding to step three. Replace the red cap after setting the
combination. (See Figure 2).
Push that Lever "OvER and UP" - from B position to A position. See Figures 3 & 4.

note: Important: You cannot change the Lever unless the Numbered Lock Dials (2) are
on "0-0-0"

Rotate the three Numbered Lock Dials (2) to numbers you are familiar with such as
a birth date or address. Record your personal numbers away from the Book Safe in
a safe place. .

Do not disturb the new combination. Flip the Lever back into it's original position - from
A position to B position. (See Figures 3 & 4). Do this BEFORE closing the Book Lid.
Shut the Lid and test to see if it is locked.

Once it is locked, and the Lid is secure, spin the dials (2) to "any number" to discour-
age easy opening. Without the code, a thief cannot access the contents in your Book
Safe without breaking it open.

If you want to change to a new combination, repeat the steps 1 through 4.

or firearms. The Steel Book Safe is not fire-proof or waterproof. Harbor Freight Tools
is not responsible for lost or stolen articles.
1.
Protect the Safe from moist or wet conditions. Moisture may cause damage in the
dial or corrosion of the steel.
2.
Occasionally wipe the safe and dial clean with a soft dry cloth or brush.
3.
Occasionally apply a small amount of light oil or lock lubricant to the mechanical
lock mechanism.
