Connecting the brake

You only need to connect the wireless ANT Bushido brake to the handlebar mounted computer once, the next time you start up Bushido, brake and computer will recognize each other right away. You need to be cycling when you connect the brake because this will put tension on the brake which makes the data transfer possible.

Creating a user profile

The Bushido needs you to input some personal data that will be used to calculate power output and also save your score. You will enter: user name, weight including the bike, sex, date of birth and length. See page SELECT USER for the explanation on settings.

Activating the handlebar computer

In order to avoid depletion of your batteries the Bushido computer will automatically shut off after two minutes. If you wish to reactivate the computer press any key.

Every time you start up the Bushido you will find the MENU. You can start up a workout, run settings or check your latest score directly from the menu.

With ANT you will need to CONNECT the transmitter belt to your computer, if you fail to do so there will be no reception. With the other sensors you should choose between CONNECT and DISCONNECT.

In order to calculate power output the Bushido uses the data from the external ANT sensor when it is connected to the computer. If you wish to use Bushido's own calculations you should disconnect the ANT sensor.

Brake Calibration

The precision of the brake's power display depends on a number of things like how tight the tire is pressed against the roll, tire pressure, changing magnetic forces and temperature. In order to guarantee precise measuring of power you have to CALIBRATE the wireless brake. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Brake Connecting / Disconnecting

Here you connect and disconnect the wireless ANT Bushido brake to the handlebar computer. Check whether the serial number that is being displayed, is the same as the serial number on the Bushido brake's sticker.

Brake Scale factor

If you cannot read the display clearly, you may adapt its focus through CONTRAST by using arrow up and arrow down.

Bushido is equipped with Backlight. You may choose between ON and AUTO, in case of the latter choice the backlight will automatically shut itself off after 15 seconds. Rider's position

In the illustration progress inside the program is indicated by means of a vertical line. The user is indicated with a star icon. If you are riding against an opponent, his position is indicated by means of a round icon.

Opponents

How many meters the opponent leads or lags behind with regard to the rider can only be viewed in the lower taskbar of the ROUTE screen, where normally energy use is indicated in kJ.

Left and right balance

You will see a horizontal bar in the bottom part of the screen. This bar shows the difference in power supplied by the left and right leg. The smaller this difference is, the smaller the light middle area will be. If the middle area is larger, it is an indication that your pedal stroke is not 'round'.

Taking a break from riding

If you stop riding before you have arrived at the finish line you will see PAUSE. All of the user's data, as well as his or her opponent's data, will be put on hold. When you start riding again the computer will calculate everything based on this data.

Use arrow right to open the complete training data. The Bushido computer has a lot of information stored in its memory.
